The First Tee Support: In both 2016 and 2017, MCGC led all 32 clubs in its support of The First Tee, a gracious act befitting this special club.

HCM Record: Group winner / Finalist in 2007, 2008; semifinalist, 2017

Notable: In 2017, it was like a giant awoke from a slumber. One of the oldest golf clubs in America, MCGC is currently thriving and passionate about the Hoffman Cup.  Not only did it almost beat the 2017 champion club, Arcola, in the Semis, it topped all clubs in donations to the First Tee. Captain Gallagher deserves considerable credit for getting his team in great shape. Can he keep it going?

MCGC's annual Weekend of Golf is one of the very few no-handicap member guests in the country. With a strong cadre of players, expect Morris County to resume its place in the Finals soon.

MCGC is also a member of the Quadrangular (along with Hoffman Cup clubs Somerset Hills CC and  Rumson CC), widely considered the oldest continual interclub competition in North America.

MCGC hosted the 2015 Hoffman Cup Finals.  In the past it has hosted the:

  • USGA Amateur in 1898
  • MGA Open in 1910
  • NJSGA Amateur in 1914, 1997, 2015
  • NJSGA Open in 1984
